Take it to the next level with the affordable Samsung Galaxy S7 EDGE

In this fast paced life we lead with so many smart devices being placed on store fronts, which one can fit the description: affordable, smart, visually appealing?

What is the Samsung S7 EDGE?
As a tech lover and enthusiast, i am always in the look out for devices that will help me create stunning content on the go. My research led me to the stunningly awesome Samsung Galaxy S7 EDGE. the device holds a 5.5” Quad HD Super AMOLED screen with dynamic, contoured dual edge display with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and a 12-megapixel rear camera with 5-megapixels on its front camera. The device offers 4GB RAM / 32GB ROM, which can be expanded up to 256GB (external memory sold separately)

More about the device
Well, unlike what Samsung had done on the Galaxy S7, which looks (at first impression) like last 2015's model, the changes on the S7 Edge were brilliant, adding a little more to a design that could have quickly become boring. The device has been awarded by tech blog techrader the "best phone of 2016". And even though the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge has now been old news, its still an affordable choice. Plus, it's still a top-notch smartphone. The screen is larger than the Galaxy S6 Edge, yet somehow the phone doesn't feel too big for your pocket and budget. The rear of the phone is curved too, making it sit nicely in the hand.

It's waterproof and dust resistant abilities allow good underwater selfies for that summer holiday in Sun City. There's a microSD card slot for extra data carriage and there's so much power in there i'm pretty sure you can go on a weekend without having the need to charge the device. And that's even more possible because the battery – such a disappointment on 2015's S6 phones – is boosted massively too, giving us a handset that's able to last over 24 hours between charges. Sure, it's no longer the golden child in Samsung's smartphone line-up, with the new Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus, but if your budget can't stretch to Samsung's latest smartphones (they are rather expensive) the Galaxy S7 Edge is still an excellent choice.

Samsung Galaxy S7 EDGE price (Takealot)
Released: March 2016
Price at launch: R15,999
Now down to: R10,999

It still not as cheap, but in my view, it's still worth every rand.
